I’m no expert at freelensing but I have found a few tips that make it easier. First, I use my cheap 50/1.8 (Canon) because it’s very light and easy to hold. I set up my shot and settings first before removing my lens. After removing the lens, I sit the lens right back in its seat on my camera as if I were putting it on but I don’t click it closed. Then, I gently tip the lens back and forth to get the look and focus I want. The biggest thing is that the movements need to be VERY subtle. A teeny movement will get the nice blur.
