This room has two westward facing windows and is filled with beautiful light in the afternoons! We had this big blank wall and I had my husband build huge shelves out of 1×4’s to line the wall and fill with all our children’s books. (A straight on shot of the wall of shelves in posted on my profile, just click on this image and swipe over!) My daughter loves to dress in princess clothes and the little window seat makes a natural spot for her to sit. I just made sure I swept any toys or extra junk out of the way to keep the frame clear and focused on her. I kneeled down and leaned against the door frame to get the leading line of the book shelf. Settings at 1/250, f/1.4, iso 500 with a canon 5d mark iv and my canon 35 mm lens. The white walls and carpet did most of the work in bouncing light, so I minimally edited in Lightroom using a preset I made myself. I brought down the highlights a lot and the blacks a little, while lifting the shadows. I upped my contrast to 25 and bumped the exposure just a little, because I am partial to light and bright images.
